Our work

Built from the base up

Most concrete fails because of what's underneath. We excavate, compact and reinforce properly before a single truck shows up.

Driveways

Tear-out and replacement or new pours, 5 inches thick with rebar grid and proper control joints.

Typical range$8 to $14 per sq ft

Patios & pool decks

Broom, smooth or exposed aggregate finishes, sloped to drain away from your home.

Typical range$9 to $16 per sq ft

Stamped & decorative

Stone, slate and wood-plank patterns with integral color and a sealed, slip-resistant finish.

Typical range$14 to $24 per sq ft

Steps & walkways

Front steps, garden paths and landings with consistent rises and clean edges.

Typical range$2,400 to $9,000

Repair & resurfacing

Leveling sunken slabs, crack repair and resurfacing when full replacement isn't needed.

Typical range$1,200 to $5,500

Retaining walls & footings

Poured walls, footings and garage slabs engineered for Middle Tennessee clay.

Typical range$4,500 to $25,000

What you can't see matters most

Two driveways can look identical on day one. The difference shows up in year three. Here's what goes into ours.

Crew screeding fresh concrete with a power screed

Compacted base

Six inches of crushed stone, compacted in layers. Most sinking starts with a lazy base.

Rebar, not just mesh

A tied #4 rebar grid on every driveway, set on chairs so it stays mid-slab.

Planned joints

Control joints cut at the right depth and spacing so cracks go where we choose.

One fixed price

Tear-out, haul-off, base, pour and seal, all in a single written number.

If a structural crack shows up within five years, we repair or replace that section. That's in your contract.

Three generations of finishing concrete

My grandfather finished sidewalks in East Nashville in the 1960s. I grew up on his crews, learning that the work you bury is more important than the work you show.

I started Stoneset in 2008 to build the kind of concrete he would have signed his name to. We pour fewer jobs than most companies, and we're fine with that.

I'm on site for every pour. If you want to know why we're doing something, ask me.

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Nashville?

Most driveway replacements run $8 to $14 per square foot including tear-out, base, rebar and sealing. A typical two-car driveway lands between $6,500 and $12,000. Your proposal is one fixed number.

How long before I can drive on new concrete?

You can walk on it after 24 hours and park cars after 7 days. Heavy trucks should wait 28 days while it reaches full strength.

Will my concrete crack?

All concrete can develop hairline cracks. Our control joints guide them where they belong, and our 5-year warranty covers structural cracks and settling.

Do you handle permits and tear-out?

Yes. We pull permits, call 811 for utility locates, remove and haul off the old concrete and grade the site.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We hold Tennessee contractor license #73419, are bonded, and carry general liability and workers' comp.

Do you offer financing?

Projects over $4,000 qualify for 12 months at 0% APR. Pre-qualifying takes about a minute and won't affect your credit.

Can you pour in winter?

Yes, above 40°F with blankets and the right mix. We schedule around freezes and will reschedule rather than risk a weak pour.
